Microsoft Acquiring Activision: Is This Bad News?

Microsoft agreed to buy the video game maker Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, its largest takeover ever and a big bet on the metaverse.

As it is, you get to play Diablo on games pass, overwatch, call of duty and star craft.

If you're a lover of Sony, you should be very worried about this.

The implication of this huge takeover is simple, Sony might sell more video game consoles than Microsoft except that Sony's market cap is around 5% of Microsoft's. So fix that. Are we talking about a future acquisition of Sony and a future monopoly? You get it.

By the time Microsoft controls the gaming Metaverse, everyone's locked up by their terms.

However, with what Microsoft did with Minecraft, it could be real fun and gamers can have a better experience. Gaming is for the highest bidder.

Some believe Microsoft were losing money at $15 a month before spending 70 billion, fearing that prices will go up, even though they don't have the data to support this claim.

Majority agree that an affordable gaming options to families around the world is a better deal that comes with the acquisition.

Microsoft says the Activision Blizzard deal is expected to close in FY2023. This is the period between July 2022 and June 2023.

Until then, Activision Blizzard will continue to operate as it currently is, and then report to Phil Spencer after close.
