Pastor Mike Todd Spits on Christianity
A video of an Oklahoma Pastor has gone viral and the public outrage can't seem to subside. During a demonstration, Pastor Mike Todd of Transformation Church made several individuals in the audience and online unhappy by wiping spit down the face of another attendee to demonstrate that "receiving God's vision can sometimes be nasty."
A gasp could be heard from the audience after the motion.
At a time when the world is yet to recover from Covid-19 pandemic and as new variants emerge, such behaviors from within the church is as childish and incentive just to be conservative with words.
Drew A Thomas, an online commentator wrote, "The Mike Todd situation is exactly why we need more faithful Bible teaching churches, not entertainers who seek to go viral every Sunday.
I’m all for the practicality of sermons being explained, but when is enough enough?"
One very important aspect of Mike Todd's display is the celebrity status attained by pentecostal church leaders, which most cases make them show men, taking the center stage more than Christ whom they claim to preach.
Such action by the Tulsa Pastor puts Christianity at a slaughter slab of social critics and a world constantly losing it's religious appeal.
"What he (Pastor Todd) did has nothing to do with God. As someone in a position of authority, he will be held to a higher level of accountability. This is why people want nothing to do with Christians right now, and why I no longer identify as one even though I still believe in God," Trisher_F noted.
The real issue here is, who is going to stop the excesses of religious leaders before they turn cult leaders like the Mad Messiah, Jim Jones of the Guyana tragedy? How long will it take before this Pastor or anyone tests an Ak 47 weapon on a church member to "illustrate" how divine protection works? The followers may as well be at greater risk.
