CHILD MARRIAGE: I'M GETTING MARRIED TO MY "GRANPA"-THE WISH OF THE GODS?

Child marriage is real and its consequences stare us in the face. its effects on the social well-being of the child, psychological and health cannot be over-emphasized. Where illiteracy and poverty abound, the effects become all consuming. My Sociological analysis is critical of religious dogma attached to some certain belief system and I promise to tackle the phenomenon without bias. I understand the emotional appeal which religion carries, I also understand the functions and its roles in bringing about stability and cohesion, psychological and moral function as well as its role in reconstructing social identity. I'm aware however, that religion has also been the bane of progress in many societies across the world stimulating conflict and resulting in loss of lives and properties. Adherents of religious belief attribute their actions as emanating from a divine authority and their behaviours are the manifestation of their moral duty to the divine.
Sociologically speaking however, what constitutes morality is a constructed model of societal code of conduct which is relative to time and space. Morality among the Hutus is the immoral among the Australian aborigins, what is good in the West is bad in the East. These differences define our actions and association and how we perceive others. Whatever constitute the divine, which I regard as the product of the society due to evident differences, obedience is key. Durkheim for instance, noted that what constitutes the holy and the profane is instituted by the society which formulates its rules as a tool for social cohesion and progress.
Consequently, if a cup is tagged holy by members of the society, then it becomes holy, although to many others, it is an ordinary cup which performs the sole function of accommodating water for drinking. To those who are followers of the belief system, their acceptance defies reason since belief is based on faith. My aim is to expose the contradictions and strain inherent in such religious beliefs which undermines the very essence of life which it ought to protect.
If the 'omnipotency' of an acclaimed divine is bedeviled by the cloud of static constancy that he/she(as the case may be) becomes inconsiderate of change and progress and if he continues to favour continued subjugation resulting in agony and pain, hopelessness which young girls now face in the hands of their granpa husbands, then I beg to question wisdom this divine entity. Perhaps, the conscience moral of adherents of such a belief must be scrutinized or subjected to mental test for choosing to subjugate the weak on behalf of the divine.
Religion in its pattern and trend must undergo changes though still retaining the cores of worship, reverence and performance of rituals. Any religious belief which does not accommodate social change becomes a tool for social deviance. A new form of criminal behaviour emerges from within such belief system either in relation to others and/ in carrying out religious duties- a cause of extremism and terrorism today and homosexuality among Catholic Priests.
Child marriage which I consider a form of rape, and which deprives the girl-child of her right to life emanate from a rigid belief system which manifests to produce a new reality that is, health, psychological and social effects which the world must now battle through education. This conservative form is traced to man(selfish, brutal and inconsiderate). Imagine a 13 year old girl married to a 60 year old and would have her hands tied to the wall whenever the 'old man' is hungry for sex even as the young girl cries and groans in pain caused her by this organized fraud against her will. Afterall, a "woman has no will of her own" as they say. Therefore, if you are a Father having a beautiful, sharp girl of say around 12-14, get her up for aunction or sale at Jumia for a fee to be given to the gods(I think the money is for the gods, Isn't it?) she  might end up with boko haram or some ISIS heavy weights -sheer wickedness. Whose child is getting married next? not me.
