Playing the Victim - This Black Community Thing is Counter-productive

On the 22nd of June, black students from the University of Toronto gathered at the Institution Hart House. Regardless of the motive, the segmentation of a particular race in a public institution should not be supported. What this further does is to create further gulf between the black community and others. Black Lives Matter is an example of how a protectionist plot has failed in fact, in its quest to protect the Black communityin the US. Such movements cause further division and brings about suspicion.
Do the black community even wants to have a black community? | Urban ...
This is simply not the time to concentrate on what divides us, but to focus on how we all can effectively break any form of glass ceiling, and fight injustice done on the black community with subtle intelligence. It should be noted that the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s led by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was successful because it wasn’t just about a single race. It was struggle that involved some white folks too. It will be in the collective interest of the Black community in the University of Toronto to focus its energy on developmental radicalization, not playing the victim game.

Those who wish to join the membership of such segregated union should join if its actions help in uplifting the lot of the common man and use its membership clout to promote oneness among all. Having an event for only blacks is the same as engaging in what you seem to fight against. If there had been an event organized for the White majority alone, it could have been tagged as racism, with a lot of public outcry. It is a negation of the negation. We do not want a world and not even Canada, where blacks see themselves as distinct from whites. With innovation, capacity building and skill development, the black community in Canada and indeed the Western world, will be able to break the glass ceiling in many organizations.

black women why black lives matter campaign is an incomplete narrative ...The Academic community and indeed those within the University of Toronto must apply caution in their quest to create black awareness. This present approach will further lead to racial consciousness among other racial groupings and amplify the institutionalization of racism, creating more foes rather than friends. An extension of this is a string of a black only church, black only street, black only marriage, black only customers, black only schools, black only staff and the list goes on. Economically it is dysfunctional, and in terms of social relations, it is counter-productive and therefore, unnecessary victim playing tool that will boomerang in an unimaginable way.
